Yakuza 4 reddit7/22/2023 ![]() "Villian 4: And you have all been fools, I was the mastermind all along."īut I forgive it because the finale was too hype for me to even care. "Villian 2: Betrays Villian 3 And now I reveal myself, for I was a good guy all along." "Villian 3: Kills villian 1 Pathetic, you're being delusional." "Villian 2: Betrays villian 1 You idiot, I was the mastermind all along." "Villian 1: You fell into my trap! HAHAHA!" The story at first was so good, but then nothing makes sense by the end, the confusion was so much for me by the end. It tried to tackle so many things that by the end, it all fell down. The finale was so epic and full of hype that I was willing to look past two of it's massive flaws by the end.Īnd the two massive flaws are the story fine and the final boss. So keep that in mind if you're planning on playing Y4.Īnyway, you know how a lot of the Yakuza games always have this tragic tone to its ending? In Y4, it's replaced with what I can only describe as the video game version of "LET'S FUCKING GO!!!!!". Nothing happened in that scene, aside from the tension and Saejima being ashamed from that event after quickly backing away, but from what I understand, this is the part that made many people hate Saejima. If you are uncomfortable with the implication of sexual assault, then chances are you'll hate Saejima. However, this is a huge thing, I'm fully aware of THAT scene between him and a specific girl, people who already finished Y4 will know which scene I'm referring to. Another time, he talks with a homeless kid and he mentioned that he wanted to be an elementary teacher years ago but wasn't able to achieve that dream, and it connects with another story too, because later in his part of the story, he helps build up a dojo and training weak students to become badasses that competes in touraments. He breaks down and cried two times, one time in front of a huge crowd and expressed his regrets and nightmares from killing people. He was hyped up to be this stoic badass that killed 18 people without remorse, but then in the span of 3 to 5 hours in his story, here are a few things that happened. When it comes to Saejima, his part of the story was so emotional and tragic. I couldn't stop smiling when the time comes when they all walk together towarss the finale. It took hours, but by the time the final chapter comes and all of these 4 guys team up and walk towards the final battle, it was extremely hype. ![]() I liked all 4 of them, with Saejima's story being my favorite, and Akiyama's combat style being my favorite. Y4 has my favorite depiction of Kamurocho because of how expansive and fresh it feels just by adding new elevations. However, I know that this isn't a new thing anymore, when putting into consideration the newer games in the series are already doing this. ![]() You now have rooftops, undergrounds, new interiors on buildings and they're all interconnected and you can use them as shortcuts. I'll just slightly hint towards a few minor spoilers in this post.įirst, it takes the city that everyone is familiar with, and expanded it both horizontally and vertically. The reason why Y4 appeals to me so much is for a few reasons combined. I fell in love with Yakuza 3, and then Yakuza 4, and then Y4 became my favorite. Yakuza 0 was my first game of the series, and for a while, it was my favorite, but then the remastered collection arrived on PC in 2021, and I bought it immediately. Yakuza 0 is the one I would absolutely recommend to anyone, but Yakuza 4 is the one that appeals to me the most. Keep in mind, there's a difference in being the best, and being my favorite. While many consider Yakuza 0 to be the best of the series, and I agree too, I have to say that Yakuza 4 is my favorite.
